Can the A5 be flown from regular airports?
Yes. While the A5 is designed more for your adventures away from airports, it can be flown into any airport or airfield from the smallest strip to the largest international airport. Flying into busier airports with control towers, however, requires either a Sport Pilot have an endorsement to fly in that airspace by an FAA instructor, or that they hold at least a Private Pilots License.
Can the A5 be flown from grass or unimproved strips?
Yes. The A5 is a lightweight aircraft that requires very little runway surface to operate from. The A5 can be flown from paved surfaces or relatively smooth grass, dirt, or gravel surfaces. The A5 needs between 500 – 1000 feet to take off depending on conditions.
Do I have to keep the A5 at an airport?
No. The A5 can be stored at the local airport like any other transportation-style aircraft, but it is designed to be easily trailered and stored off airport at your house or some other suitable location. The A5 requires about as much room to store as a standard waterski or wakeboard boat.
